There's a lot I want to say about how awesome that was and how much fun I had, but it's dinner time so I'll stick with very nice race Turbo, and here's a few shots from the event, enjoy!

D'oh!  Thanks!  I think that's only mentioned in the caption right?  I'm not too worried. I realized after I think I'm the only one I didn't get a single shot of!

And thanks Looney, I ran the race I was hoping to and finished very very happily (Ahead of Ex was enough to make my night!).  I was actually hanging with turbo for a long time, but then a mental error gave him a few seconds, and my sticky brake pedal required a fast unplug and replug of the 7pin connector, and by then he had all but ran away.  I was very happy to see so many different people throughout the race, there were a lot of packs of 2 or more I saw out there at different times :)

Sorry I haven't posted the lap count for this race yet.  I was out of town for a week and have just been getting back into the swing of things.  Should have that info up tonight as long as nothing comes up.

Great race in Rome. I don't know how other guys' races went (except for Metal :()), but Ex, me, and Dawson had quite a battle for the podium spots. They spent some time together, then I spent some time with Ex, then I spent some time with Dawson, then Dawson ran away. On fresh tires, Dawson was gone; on old tires, I gained. I caught him on the last lap (he had worse tire wear I believe) but didn't have the execution to take first. Most of our battling wasn't actually tight battling, but gaps usually between 3 and 6 seconds. Great job everyone. Thanks for the race.

thanks turbo, agree a good battle between the three of us even though as you said there were small gaps most of the time.  We could always see each other, so that was nice.

near the beginning of the race, did you notice I let you by?  I  could really tell that I was falling b ack from Dawson and that you were having to be real careful with me in front of you.  I let you by and took advantage of your draft to stay in contact with Dawson, hopefully being able to capitalize later.  IT was worth a try, but didnt' pan out because Dawson ran such a clean and basically flawless race.

I'll say again what I said that night after some people left.

Dawson won that race.  Not his NSX.  He kicked ass and got the job done very well.  Any mistakes and the car would not have saved him.

I am switching to another car if that's still okay.  I'm not going to listen to any more bitching about the NSX.  I'm getting pretty sick of it.

I wouldn't complain about a driver picking a certain car that's in the list. I can probably have equal results in my S2000 as the premium NSX. I don't think you should chage. I would, however, suggest that there are two classes of cars in this event.

Heavy cars (Skyline GT-R, Fairlady Z 300ZX, Supra RZ, GTO/3000GT)
Light cars ('91 Acura NSX, '91 Mazda Efini RX-7 Type R, '99 S2000, '97 MR2 GT-S, Honda NSX Type S Zero)

If I'm in a light car, I should beat Ex and Dawson in a heavy car. If either of you are in a light car, you should beat me in a heavy car

Turbo that is an interesting thought.  I spent several hours evaluating these cars before creating this serious but it would seem that my testing was flawed.  Also not including a penalty ballast rule was another big oversight  :(  I suppose we could retro-actively put in place the 2 class system if nobody protests.

exXboxFan, thanks for the kind words!  I've been leery of MR cars since I love trail braking so much but I spent some time tuning this car to my tastes and it worked out really well.  I wouldn't say that my race was "flawless", as Turbo was witness to one big "oops" on my part but luckily I recovered quickly and Turbo's quick reflexes prevented any contact between us.  Still you are correct in that it well executed.  Maybe the Supra is still capable of winning, but if so I'm not talented enough to make it happen. :-\

As to the race itself, it was a great one with a lot of tight racing.  For the first 8-10 laps I was amazed at how close Turbo and Ex were racing.  Half of the time I glanced at my map it seemed like their 2 arrows had become 1.  Turbo you were definitely correct regarding tire wear.  When I had the fresh rubber I could increase the gap.  But after they started wearing you would reel me in.  I spent some time reviewing the replay last night and your tire wear was much much better than my own.  After 10-12 laps I was down to 30% tread (more or less) and you still were above 50%.

Being smooth and braking early to conserve tires were important in this race, so that a 2 stop strategy was possible.  Pitting at laps 14 and 28 was my game plan and I was able to stick to it.

Fastest single lap times were ridiculously close at the top.  Myself, Turbo and Ex all had fastest times just a few hundredths of a second apart. :o

I am going to retire from the series and last night was a great example of why. First I can't for the life of me keep the NSX on the track.

2rd I know that I caused at least 2 incidents which I have to apologize for to quite a few racers but there are too many to name.

I never have time to practice and I just can't show up at the time of the race and go. This car is fast but really doesn't like to turn, I was spinning out just going through a gradual corner. Maybe it's because I can't seem to find the time to get a decent tune under it.

I had my wife and kids nattering at me the whole time and then when I had an incident with Dawson which I do not blame you for, but it made me think what am I doing here when I'm now 2 laps down and only on lap 13?

The worst part was that for the 1rd 5-6 laps I was in 4st and right with Turbo before I started wall humping.

Sorry to everyone if I screwed up their race, I'm just too competitive for my own good.
