No we never do. In the past it has just been a few hours not 8 plus and none of this weirdness of signing in prior to still be able to play.

i'ts PSN maintenance, so it could really only be about two or three things they are donig.

1, another security vulnerability was discovered and they are quietly patching it.
2, there are some really extensive changes to the XMB or features within it.
3, background coding changes that needed to be done to support different hardware infastructure (servers etc.)

either way, I suppose it's more good than bad.  It just sucks when it interferes with what we have planned...   >:(

Turbo, you are not alone.  According to the planet, 35% of the GT population is experiencing this looping issue.

35% sounds exaggerated. That doesn't even bear out here, with the number of Tuna members.

This is so funny LLF. They say one thing one place and another at another.

knowledge center mentions the 9pm PDT. We are in standard time, so is it 8pm tonight?

Note: During our current maintenance some authenticated users may have lost access. We apologize for this inconvenience and are working hard to restore access as soon as possible.

I'm asked to sign in.  I say ok.  I get a little beep with a message saying Sony Entertainment Network is currently undergoing maintenance and I click the 'back' button.  Then I'm told I didn't sign into the PlayStation Network.

No fucking shit.

It sounds like they are spending all of their time trying to outdo the rest for updates.

Good luck everyone. I'm off right now for 4 days of skiing with the family and don't have to even think of the folks at PSN.

I wonder if the Authenticated users losing access is the cause of the looping? Could it be some type of DRM that this maintenance was all about? Are any other games looping like GT5?

The loop problem is related to game saves. I can start GT5 (no PSN access of course) with my other accounts on my PS3. Just not my current main account. So, IF we can sign on to the network tonight, I can race, just with an alt I'.d.

That's interesting, have you tried temporarily removing the saved game or maybe the backup file from your main account?  I've always wondered if that Backup saved game file causes problems because I could swear sometimes I've had cars or paints restored after I've deleted them.

I also wonder if it may have something to do with the psn being down to "fully" complete the 2.10 update.  All our saves are tied to our account names, but we can't log-in right now.

Just guessing here.
